Frequently asked
questions
Quick answers for facilities, schools, shelters, and community programs considering a mobile dental clinic with OMCDS.
How much space do you need for a clinic day?
In most settings, a multipurpose room, activity room, nurse's office, or conference room works well. We bring our own portable chair, lighting, suction, and digital X-ray. All you provide is an outlet and, ideally, a nearby sink.
How long does each visit take?
Most appointments are 30–60 minutes, depending on the patient's needs and mobility. School and youth clinics can be structured for shorter preventive-only visits to see more students in a day.
Can OMCDS bill dental insurance?
Yes. OMCDS can bill most major dental insurance plans for eligible patients. When possible, we verify benefits in advance and communicate clearly about any estimated co-pays or out-of-pocket costs.
Do you accept Oregon Health Plan?
Yes. OMCDS accepts Oregon Health Plan for eligible members. OHP covers many preventive and basic restorative services — such as exams, cleanings, X-rays, fluoride, fillings, and certain denture services.
How do consents and communication with families work?
We provide simple consent and health history forms that can be shared with families or guardians. After each visit, we can send summaries and recommended follow-up to your team and, when appropriate, to families or case managers.
What infection-control standards do you follow?
OMCDS follows current infection-control guidelines, including instrument sterilization, disposable barriers, PPE, and careful room setup to protect privacy and safety.
Can we schedule recurring clinics?
Yes. Many partners start with a pilot clinic day and then move to a recurring monthly or quarterly schedule depending on need.
Who usually coordinates with OMCDS?
We commonly work with executive directors, nursing directors, social workers, school nurses, case managers, and HR or program leaders.
